I have used two companies recently as I needed new glasses.
I used as it would appear have many others here https://www.optical4less.com and got a pair of great quality rimless for $39 delivered, this was around the £26 off my bank account. Took 2 weeks from ordering to delivery. The price on the package was marked at less than the $39.
Also used https://www.spex4less.co.uk, a British company and got a pair, not rimless, for £19.99. Again good quality, order friday pm, glasses arrived Monday morning.
In both cases the glasses I got were of far greater quality than I paid for last time in a national optician chain "bog-off" deal.0 -
Have this week ordered a pair of specs from spex4less as I had my prescription and with 2 wee kiddies couldn't bear the thought of a trip in to town to the opticians. I found the site having compared the prices of a few and chose them becaue their special offer is a pair of DKNY titanium specs complete with prescription lenses for 39.95. As a bit of an eejit I entered the prescription wrongly on the ordering page and within an hour the technician had rung me to clarify it. He said that if the glasses weren't perfect then to send them back. They came the next day and the lense that I had entered incorrectly was wrong.... I rang him and sent them back. They arrived today and are perfect and although it took me effort to sort the prescription out I would highly recommend them. Their service was brilliant and they couldn't do enough for me. Old fashioned customer care through the internet..... who'd have thought it?!0

I've bought three pairs from http://www.ispectacle.com/ never paid more than £25 and they are brilliant.0

Can't recommend www.goggles4u.com enough!
£18.54 for a cracking pair of rimless frames with thinner than standard lenses.0 -
Also look at www.optical4less.com. They are made by qualified opticians in Hong Kong.
Just spent £65 on 2 pairs - one rimless with 'reactolite' and one standard. Both had anti-reflective coating, anti-scratch and the frames were VERY good quality - sprung hinges etc.
Will be using them again
I bought 2 pairs last year from them.. one of them was rimless.. the lenses were horrible thick plastic, however couldn`t fault the other pair.Debt Free Jan 2010!(Be happy) the state of your life is nothing more than the state of your mind! X:j0 -
Theres a 5% Discount code for first purchases from www.goggles4u.com on this site if you search for it. They also offer a 15% discount on all repeat purchases. If you ask your optician they may give you your PD ( pupilary distance ) measurement but I don't think they are obliged to as it's not part of your prescription.0

My personal experience has been with Fashion Specs Direct. I found their prices good and what really impressed me was their outstanding customer service. I'm big on customer service and this company worked well for me.
They also do a 5% discount - check here - AND they also offer free prescription sunglasses! I believe they also do a 10% discount for students - that's only available through university and college websites as far as I'm aware (to avoid abuse, I guess).
With regard to measuring your PD, there are some instructions on how to do that here (if I followed it, anyone can!) - https://www.fashionspecsdirect.co.uk/faq5.php“When the customer comes first, the customer will last”0 -

I had my eyes tested yesterday. FWIW I didn't actually require any new glasses, but asked the optician for a prescription should I want to order online at some stage. He seemed perfectly happy to do that and to measure my PD for me.Stompa0 -
Hi Guys just to add to the list of online opticians. I went to www.spexfactory.co.uk to get my glasses. Please though check prices of other glasses retailers. My glasses frame and prescription lenses was cheapest on this one on this occasion. I do feel guilty though going to an optician to get my eyes tested and going elsewhere. Is this just me? I will get my glasses prescription done next time maybe at Asda so I wont feel as guilty denting their profits. Unless of course their glasses are cheaper:cool:0
