Does anyone remember the incandescent light bulb?

    There was me thinking the ban came from the EU and not from GB.

    So in that case Mr Brown is powerless to act as our beloved overlords from Brussels have made it so.

    well its time Brown grew a set of balls and stood up to them, its him and his mate tony thats got us into this mess in the first place

  • I replaced three 5-light chandeliers with energy-saving bulbs. They were great for a while, but now you can hardly see with the poor light they give out, unless you switch them on a good ten minutes earlier than you want to use them. Not exactly saving energy, then.

    You can't get energy-saving bulbs (even the very new ones) to fit three of my 3-light spotlight fittings, so I will have to go out and buy 3 new light fittings, and pay for an electrician to fit them. Wouldn't all that money be better spent planting trees (which cost £250 for 1000 sycamore whips) or something?
