Using the Small Claims Court

As in my other thread here, I am owed money for work that I did for someone, and I think I will have to go to the Small Claims Court to get it. Does anyone have any advice for using Money Claim Online (MCOL)?

None other than that it's a very easy site and process to use. You don't need to be a legal expert. It's designed to be user friendly.0

Prefer using the old fashioned methods of issuing through local County Court. Any issues are dealt with much more easily.
What sort of value?0 -
Hi there,
I have sued successfully through MCOL and it really was very easy and user friendly. The website will guide you through all the steps and you can always call for more info too if you need it. We were nervous to start with but it was very easy through out - you certainly don't need a law degree or anything.
Good LuckWife to a great husband and mum to 4 fantastic kids 9,8,4,3 they drive me mad but I would do anything and give everything for my family :grinheart

I found it very easy to use online and very helpful on the phone too. I succesfully got my money back from CarPhone Warehouse.0

Thanks for the advice - I've started the process now as I type this message (I'm just taking a short break after saving the details before I continue).
I have to admit that I'm rather nervous about this as I've never brought a court case against anyone before (never needed to, until now), and the fact that the other party has said that they'll defend it - although this could just be an attempt to call my bluff...0 -
We've used the small claims court when work wasn't done properly, they are very helpful i don't think you need any extra help.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,

Carphone Warehouse told me that they 'don't pay court costs' - and that was the person in charge of the whole company! (or thats what she told me anyway :rotfl:)0 -

Hiya, I am thinking about taking Carphonewarehouse to court regarding unpaid cashback. Would you have any advice on what happened when you used money claim online and the process. How long was it before carphonewarehouse paid up?0
