Storage Heater Cost (Prepaid key meter)

I have a storage heater in my living room and have over the recent cold period have only turned up the setting by one and have spent £4 a day heating my flat. Is this correct! I am using a prepaid key meter.
I have just read about how to use storage heater on Wikipedia (this may help) but it states that usually there are two power circuits and one is the off peak. I seem to only have one power switch does this mean I am not on a off peak electricity tariff?
Help, can anyone shed light on this?

If you only have one switch it will mean it will only work overnight (off peak) which is what you want assuming you are on an economy 7 tariff.0
