A visit instigated by me from Trading Standards seemed to change his mind about things. Several months on, the house is still for sale but advertised as an end-terrace. Obviously no longer quite the bargain he believed it to be.

I am so pleased to see someone who does make a complaint to the right authorities. A lot on the forum seem to moan but never take it further than the forum so well done on behalf of those who suffer these silly practices by EAs.

Also told me I wasn't entitled to view the HIPS as that would be sent to my conveyancer if the repo company accepted my offer which had to be the asking price. WRONG, WRONG and WRONG.
Well, of course it is a waste of time geting the HIP done. The EA never lets anyone see it. The most convincing argument yet.

are they waiting for advice about holding a r*ffl* for the c*rr*ts ?
Anyone thinking of holding a holding a r*ffl* for the c*rr*ts should seek advice.

[Sorry to obscure the key concept, I'm afraid the Sheldrake effect might bring about c*l*br*ty c*rr*t r*ffl*. If it happens, clutton started it].

I should have added that firstly I contacted the company's compliance department in their head office. Had to leave a message but no-one got back to me.

I'm taking a deep breath now as I'm going to publicly admit that I WAS AN ESTATE AGENT :eek::eek:.

There, I've said it - I'm out of the closet! Thing is, I was a good one!

Unfortunately for all the idiots now working within the industry involved in the buying, selling and renting of property, I don't use my experience as my opening line when starting a transaction so they think I know nothing.

I have 30 years' experience (and still counting).

Many in the industry weren't born when I started in property (and some probably wish they hadn't been by the time I finish with them) :0
