Now really confused ??
my requirements are best camera and video and
music player?
Im minded to go Nokia .......0 -
Good camera = sony ericsson always, no one can do it like them, also the N series have SO many bugs its not even funny so be prepared that theres a high chance of problems, wifis good but dont think its worth the headache if you dont want a smart phone, again video ties in with camera so SE all the way
sony ericsson also have nicer music software than the nokias i thinkYes Your Dukeiness

Would the k800i be the best for me?
Go with the K800i if those are your main requirements. The major advantage to having the N80 is the smart phone software and wifi which you haven't mentioned, so if you don't need it for that, then the K800i will do what you need in a smaller package. Also N80 has just been released and it seems that all N series phones 1st batches have huge reliability problems so if you do want one then wait a little, as we get loads of faulty returns across the board for them (new N-series phones). Worst of them all so far is the N91.0 -
I ve had the N80 since May and I can say that its not as unreliable as some make it out.
I don't really see WIFI as a deciding factor in choosing the N80, yeah it sounds exciting and the new browser makes it quite neat. But on such a small screen its not that cool and you ll need to watch the battery for that. It's the new s60 v3 so you might have problems using old applications on it. But overall the neat high resolution screen and having most features makes it a great all rounder at the moment.
I am actually considering getting the K800i, but in regards to video recording to a post above - from what i ve seen the K800i records video in a poor format so its not actually that great...though the still camera is.

One thing that is not mentionned in the specs of the phone is the speed of the menu.
Nokia have generally been better at this, Navigation in the menu is very quick and ergonomic.
A couple of years ago I had a Philips which really frustrated me in this regard.

not with the n-series in my experience the main menus will take about 10secs usually to come up the sony ericssons in my experience again have been straight away except when you first start up the phone they lag slightlymroller wrote:One thing that is not mentionned in the specs of the phone is the speed of the menu.

I think on that basis ill go with the SE
I dont need wifi
So I should be catered for with the Sony
Choosing a phone at this generation was a nice problem to have:j0 -
Does the K800 have a speakerphone? I love that feature on my Nokia 6230 cos I don't have to use a headset whilst driving.0

I have the K800i since Saturday. This is my third of this range and so far it is great. The camera is a noticeable improvement on the K750i which was very good itself.
I haven't found a speakerphone but I haven't looked TBH. It does do video calls though so I expect it does have one. Bluetooth is easy to use and it also has Infrared so it talks to my ageing Palm.
I can't compare it with the N80 as I didn't give any other phone a thought once I knew the K800i was coming.
On my brief acquaintanceship with the phone so far it is 10/10 for me.0 -
man this is a hard choice for me, im torn between the 2 aswell!
im not bothered about Camera Quality, as long as they take good pics then thats good enough for me, i have a dedicated digi cam for photos.
so which one would you choose if camera quality was irrelavent?
i have a K750i and is pretty good, and i like the idea of having wifi on the n80 and bigger screen.
i wish i could demo each handset for a day!!0
