Thanks for starting us off Boodle  Looking forward to having a look at everyone else's plans, need some post holiday inspiration!

SUN- Turkey (Freezer L/O's) / HM Roasties / HM Stuffing / Veg / Gravy

MON- Ham (Freezer L/O's) / HM Garlic Buttered Naan's / Veg

TUE- Chicken Kiev / HM Herbed Basmati / Veg

WED- Grilled Pork Slices / Steamed New Potatoes / Veg

THU- HM Cottage Pie / Potato Wedges / Veg

FRI- HM Smoked Mackerel, Chorizo & Tiny New Potatoes / Roll / Veg

SAT- Out or Takeaway (or possibly L/O's to clear out the fridge!)

The extra foodie goals for the coming week are: *Get all of the hock bones from the freezer into a stockpot and make a broth *Get a loaf & rolls baked (the last 2 loaves were *shudders* bought!) *Get something else, preferably of high caloric value, baked *Get the Cottage Pie filling done ahead a day or two *Have another freezer inventory after the last few weeks of 'freezer clearout'.

Hope everyone has a good weekend! :)
  • Haven't done this for months so here goes!

Fri: chicken pie (mash topping), broccoli and cabbage
    Sat: out
Sun: steak pie (pastry top), roast veg; sticky toffee pud
    Mon: chick pea curry
    Tues: spag bol
Wed: fried rice with roast pork LO from Christmas
    Thurs: fish of some description!

All meals HM but I am notoriously bad at sticking to my plan (stuff doesn't get wasted but I just veer off plan!)

Thursday - salsa chicken and cheese tortillas

Friday - [STRIKE]beef stew with cous cous[/STRIKE] falafel with salad in pitta bread

Saturday - [STRIKE]pasta with chorizo in a creamy tomato sauce...can you tell i'm making this one up?![/STRIKE] homemade quiche with salad and potato wedges

Two new recipes this week as didn't do one this week :o

I might make these as well. Does anyone know how long they'll keep for in an airtight container? Or would I be better to try and freeze them?

Changed slightly as I bought a new freezer yesterday (:D) so can change some of it round, plus I had roast chicken last night and had lots of cooked veg left, so bubble and was necessary!

Hope no-one minds if I join in :D I'm trying to clear my freezer so not a lot of cooking involved this week;)

Saturday: Home made pizza (already made and frozen) with garlic bread
Sunday: Roast beef, potatoes, veg, yorkshire puddings & gravy
    Monday:Pasta with bacon/leeks/cherry toms/mushrooms/creme fraiche
Tuesday: Chicken burgers, chips, peas & sweetcorn
Wednesday: Black Bean Quesadillas (Economy Gastronomy Recipe)
Thursday: Spaghetti Bolognaise (again the EG recipe but its a freezer portion so super easy home made ready meal:j)
Friday: Chilli and rice (Again a freezer portion of the EG recipe:D)

    Breakfasts will be cereal/crumpets/toast.
Lunches will be sandwiches using left over roast beef at start of week, and then probably ham/cheese or cheese salad as I have quite a lot of cheese to use up this week as well.

DizzyK - Thank's for posting the links to those 2 pasta recipes, they both look yum.

I sspy another BBCGF addict ;)
Will post my meal plan later - still working on it!

Whatever makes you think that? :o:rotfl:

There's so many good recipe websites around but BBCGF is the one I keep going back to - I really must go and look at some other at some point (which is going to be hard work for me, obviously ;)).
Back after a very long break!
  • Our week is still a bit rough but:

Chicken gougons and chips for DD, poss mushroom risotto for adults

    SuN;
    Brekkie as Sat
    Scrambled eggs
Roast dinner - whatever is good in shops (need to shop this week)

    Mon:
    Cereal, juice
    Sandwiches with leftover roast
Dinner using leftovers - depends on what meat

    Tues:
    Cereal, juice
Ham sandwiches (have some which wsa on special to finish)
    Pasta bake (from freezer)

    Wed:
    Cereal, juice
    Ham sambos
    Chicken fajitas

    Thurs:

Grocery shop shouldn't be too huge this week - I want to spend €100 to use my €20 voucher (I superscan, so can check totals as we go), so I will get a few packs of chicken breasts and part-boned chicken breasts for freezer, but we don't need a lot of general groceries.

    Hi all, here's mine:

Sat: Sausage casserole (with lots of veg in it and either lentils or barley)
    Sun: Chicken and sweetcorn pasta
    Mon: Kippers/mackerel and veg
    Tue: Salmon and veg
    Wed: chilli wraps
Thu: Chicken casserole - might try a new recipe - but the Sainsbugs £5 recipe of Hearty Barley Chicken pot is nice (even without the cream in it)
    Fri: Breaded haddock and veg

Lunches will be jackets, hm soup, tuna salad (OH), and maybe egg mayo sarnies for me.

Got quite a bit of veg so that will be sprouts (might make a bubbleysqueak thing), carrots, sweetcorn, some broccoli and a swede when I feel strong enough to cut it up! - Must meal plan and actually add in what veg as that's one thing that does sometimes end up in the bin.
working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?

ragz -Good luck for the impending date! My little ones both came a couple of days early ;) I found planning and shopping a couple of days before my due date brilliant because DH knew there was stuff in and what choices he had for making meals, otherwise he would have been making us all beans on toast for a week :p
    Hope all goes well! x

  • Hi everyone :)
After a rubbish week at work, I have a day off today and we treated ourselves to a chinese takeaway last night :) oops, but it was payday:j

The plan for next week is:
Mo-Pasta and mozzarella bake (with HM roasted vegetable pasta sauce from freezer, and some sliced spanish meats-seem to have a glut of those in fridge :o)
Tu-Lamb stew (from freezer), baked potatoes and braised cabbage(from freezer)
We-pork steaks (freezer), roasted veg (carrots, celeriac, spuds, parsnips, onions, sweet pots) with a mustard and creme fraiche sauce, and steamed cabbage
Th-salmon fishcakes (HM mash in freezer) chips and peas
Fr-Retro beef curry(freezer) with rice, or chip shop chips depending how the week has been :rotfl:
Sa-lamb chops (freezer), potato and celeriac bake or rosti, veg
Su-Duck legs, with baby turnips and roast spuds. (duck-freezer!)

Can you tell I am trying to use up my freezer stocks :rotfl:I would like to make room for half a pig :D
Most of the veg is from veg box, will have to buy turnips, and possibly spuds, but otherwise hoping for a minimal spends week
