o2 sim cards
today i tried to activate a sim card which gives 100 free minutes anytime anynetwork from o2 for a monthly top up of £10.00 a month.
It seems, o2 have changed this to a minimum top up of £15.00 now.
New tarriff details as far as i know:
top up £10.00 and you get 50 anytime any network minutes.
top up £15.00 and you get 100 mins ....
PREVIOUSLY it allowed us to have 100 minutes for a top up of only £10.00.
Those who suscribed or activated their sim cards before 5th May 2006 have 100 minutes.
those suscribed after 5th may 2006, have only 50 minutes. unless you top up £15.00
i tried to use an old sim , in a pack which states £10.00 top up gives 100 minutes.. but its only giving me 50 minutes. even when i use an old sim (brand new but old, only activated recently)
i sent a text message to 21300 ONCALLSMSG to make sure i get on 100 minutes instead of 300 free texts, and o2 text back saying not available anymore.
please note: i know i can get an added 50 minutes extra using calls50 bolton. but that totals upto 100 mins. before i could get 150 minutes.
you can find terms and conditions
http://www.o2.co.uk/termsconditions/tariffsandboltons0153
regrading the tarriffs.
does anyone know if they can do that? i mean my sim pack states £10.00 top up gives me 100 minutes anytime any network.... yet their terms and conditions on the above url state if you joined after 05 may then you only get 50 minutes....
Now i have to look for someone who has an unregistered sim but its been active in the past and it has 100 free minutes :P
its funny people are selling sim cards on ebay stating "100 minutes anytime anynetwork, only top-up £10.00 a month"
that dont work anymore. its £15.00 NOW.
enough said.

Seems like May 6th was change date. Am I right in thinking that the old rules apply to anyone registered before May 6th?Never argue with an idiot. They bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.0

shame. I'd love to have that sim.0

Yes unfortunately it seems it's only people who registered after that date get the 100 mins for £10.
The new tariffs are good in a way but bad in another. For example I get 300 texts for topping up £10 and am on PAYG original e.g. calls to o2 mobiles are 20p per min peak and 10p min off peak. As most of my friends are on o2 and I mainly talk in the evenings that's good. BUT if I switch to the new tariff I'd get 500 texts for topping up £15 a month however you also have to switch to PAYG talkalot to get this (25p min for first 3 mins of day then 5p per min after that) which is obviously more expensive as I don't have long convos, prefer texting.0 -
