I have the Honda Izy mentioned in the best buy lists posted above, and it is the best mower I have ever used. True, it is quite expensive (mine cost £220), but I had gone through three electric Flymo's and one antique petrol mower in about seven years. I've had this one two year now and it still looks brand new.

I basically asked which lawnmower would last me 20 years, and the only only one recommended by the guy (who really did know his stuff) was the Honda. Coupled to that, the grass takes about a quater of the time to mow now.
