Cheapest way to dispose of Earth

Hi, I am putting in a new Path down my front garden. To do this, obviously, I am going to have to dig out an amount of earth which I need to dispose of. Skips are now pretty expensive and I wondered whether anyone had any ideas for a cheaper method to dispose of the unwanted earth... Many thanks Mark

When I built my new double garage, I had a large amount of excellent top soil available. There happened to be a landscape gardener living nearby. He lent me his small tipper truck and we dumped the whole lot in his depot.

I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.
