New Sky plus buttons cant sync to tv....help

I have had to buy a new remote for the sky plus, being a technie dimwit I thought it would be so straightforward put the batteries in and away I go...not so

First the volume didnt work, now this morning when I have got up absolutely nothing works on it, tv is stuck on the programme it was last on last night. Can anyone tell me how to sync the buttons, on the back of the inside of the remote it says press tv then select and red button for 2 seconds and key in the code. I press tv and select and red but nothing happens:eek: My tv is a sony bravia by the way. Any help gratefully received.

The correct sequence is press tv, press and hold select and red until the led flashes twice,press tv, press 0000, press select. If you have the three digit code for your specific model, miss out the second press of tv.

thanks, I have managed to get the tv working again now but the volume still isnt working cant turn up or down, is it anything to do with the sync or could it be that its faulty buttons???

Your remote control requires programming with the correct codes for your TV.

Can any kind person help me out with the code for my sky remote. I have been on sky web page and you have to select your television model, mine is not listed so it says to select one which is similar which I have but the volume button is still not working, if anyone knows the code I would be really grateful television model is sony bravia KDL40L4000

I have a Sony Bravia,

Did you,

Press 'TV'

Press 'Select and Red button' until light blinks twice on remote

Press 'TV' again

Enter '0000'

Press 'Standby' button until TV goes into Standby

Then Press 'Select' on remote.
