Trying to Cancel Sky - Please Help

I first cancelled my tv package and broadband in September 2009 because I was moving in October 2009. When I moved I had a call from the people who had moved into my house to say they had tried to get sky but were told they could not because I still had my sky contract. (I only got sky because it was a very bad tv reception and we could only rec BBC1). Again I phoned sky to be told I had only cancelled my broadband and not the tv (must be truthful I thought because I told them I was moving and didnot want the tv anymore both would have been cancelled). I agreed to paid the remaining £10 there and then to close the account. Since then Sky have taken £55 out of my bank acct(I used to pay by DD). Now they are sending me letters demanding more money - only £25 but I cant afford to keep paying for something I have not received and I have cancelled.
Sorry this is so long I really would appreciate any advice. Im not very good with paperwork at the moment due to ill health. Thank you.

Hi I'm also having a war with sky. I only started my sky contract in March and also because of rubbish reception on tv. I had numerous bad experiences once i had it on phone to sky and talking to sky reps, they all tell you different things. Then I moved house in Sep arranged to have a dish fitted on rented place but i was in bad location and man told me i woud get no signal, so he said if that was case i could cancel my contract, so i asked him to phone up and they told me it was cancelled, then a few months later check bank account and they are still taking money off me so cancel direct debit and they are also sending me letters. so i've e-mailed customer services and they still saying i have to pay until end of contract even though the engineer could not install the dish. thats 7 months i have to pay without getting what i'm paying for. If anyone can help please do. Thanks0

@ crazy b
Did he say exactly why you couldnt get a signal like you have a massive warehouse right in front of your flat, tree's or something similar ? do any of your neighbours have a sky dish ? or did he just blow the job out because he was a lazy !!!!!! and couldnt be bothered with a difficult install ?0 -

They can't take any more payments if you cancel the DD-did you not do that after the final payment was made and you thought everything was cancelled? No free lunch, and no free laptop0
