Don't forget that sick days will probably be noted and the number passed onto a new employer via a reference.

I would not be happy to know a new employee is decietful and would automatically have some ground to make up

Im not the OP but yes I am aware that this will be the case but im prepared to take that chance

So the company pays for your interviews, hardly fair on the company is it!
    Always ask ACAS

    Hi,
just need some advice please. Fed up with my job, really need to leave. Got two interviews next week and not sure if my boss will give me the time off. My boss has been funny in the past when i have had interviews. The other person i work with is on holiday and we are not allowed to be off at the same time. Am i entitled to time off for an interview?
    Thanks.

    No .

    Hi,

thanks for all the replies. Got one of the interviews Friday (29), able to go into work an hour late, boss of that day, a colleague has arranged to cover my job during that time.
Telling my boss tomorrow that I want to leave, and will need time for interviews. Sick of the place, sick of my boss. Just hate asking for time off, my boss always moans.
