Nice one with the job, I was going to suggest trying to get a job with a bookmakers. It can be a good summer job, they need extra people to cover the longer summer hours so you can usually work 1pm-9pm and go out in town afterwoods.

The pay isnt bad ~£6.50/hr and you should be able to make £250 - £300 a week full time. I worked for Coral who still have benefits for working Sundays (£10 or £15 + time and a 1/2) the bookies where I am are always desperate for staff, if you get a good shop you can sit around watching TV a lot of the time.

I recently found a good way to make extra money. Find your nearest uni and their psychology department. Around this time of year pyschology masters students are all doing their thesis which inevitably involves experiments and that means they need test subjects - lots of test subjects! Typically around 50 - 60 for each study. I've been that guinea pig these past few weeks in between trips to the library as they're on my way anyway, and have earned £50 for about 5hours of work, that's around £10/h!

It's a bit of a hassle as each study is only 30 - 60mins and each need to be scheduled seperately. But the actual work is better than any crap student job I've had to do before (including insane hours and horible conditions in factories, carrying really heavy stuff/serving nasty rich people as a waitress, telling immoral lies in telesales). It's like you just fill in a questionnaire and do a few puzzles on the computer and you don't even have to get it right.

Failing that you could always do the really hardcore clinical trials which requires you to stay in for a few days and take drugs and stuff. It's a bit risky but very well paid, I had an offer the other day for a week it was about £3-4k but was too scared. They always seem to need healthy males over 18 - and you'll be contributing to medical progress.

Finally (if you're good looking) there's this website https://www.universalextras.co.uk that places students as extras in films and adverts etc. Directors will handpick you from your photo so you'll need to have the right look, but worth a try!
