The only way to be sure of the reception where you need it it to get a free T payg sim and try it. (unless you have a mate on T who can come round?)...0

The best thing to do is get a pay as you go SIM from T-Mobile or Virgin (Virgin use the T- Mobile network) and try it yourself.
Mobile reception can vary a lot within a postcode.0 -
Near Watford here, Radlett area, T-Mobile shows full signal, and yet voice is terrible on my iPhone and Blackberry 9700.0

Interesting - thanks. Have received my free T Mobile sim in post this morning so I shall try it out. However, from talking to people it seems that the quality of the phone call also depends on my actual handset. Agreed?0

Yes - there are lots of comments on other threads that say handset x has problems while my Y is fine. I don't know of any scientific tests though
Remeber that most modern phones will choose a poor 3G signal over a good 2G one by defaultTANSTAAFL !0
