Average civil servant earns less than a private sector worker

  • that is because of bad government decision making
If it wasn't for people like myself the waste would be several millions more than what it already is.

I agree it was bad government decision making...
But the BAD decison making was to implement these massively wasteful projects in the first place and employ thousands of people like you at the taxpayers expense.
A huge number of these nonsensical projects must be scrapped now. The only reason you are employed is because of the current governments attempt to tax and spend Britain into oblivion.

Nothing in the public sector has ever functioned within budget.
If this was the private sector they would all be out on their behinds. The real world doesn't apply in the public sector. There is no bottom line, the taxpayer just keeps stumping up.
Well the cupboard is bare and I predict that a lot of you, thankfully, will be thrown to the wolves in a few months.

My brain is most definately engaged and the article I posted up wasn't an opinion it is FACT.

More troll nonsense. I don't look at my job as private sector or public sector, just as a job. Like any job, if I don't like it, I would leave - I'm not married to the job. As for all these government IT projects, well some of them are necessary, in order to upgrade our military capabilities, for example, and others are needed to bring government services up to the 21st century. Whether you like it or not these projects will go on and on - technology is an essential part of everyday life nowadays. What right do you have to say that these projects are 'nonsensical'? The reason many of these projects burst their budgets is because the budgets were badly assessed initially - too much to do for not enough money.

As for the private sector, I can tell that I've worked there for over 12 years before coming here and it was actually much more relaxed than the public sector! So much for the 'non-jobs' in the public sector - there are certainly many more non-jobs in the private sector.
  • How intelligent. Anyone who disagrees with your point of view is a troll.

And we'll see about the projects going on and on...
As for nonsensical did you read the article?
  • no one cares about non-jobs in the private sector because the tax payer are not paying their salaries!!!

Wrong - they are! Otherwise where does private sector money come from? It comes from customers, i.e. consumers, i.e. the general public!!

At least you have a choice whether to give money to the private sector or not. If enough people don't give a private sector company money by not buying its products, the company will lose money and be forced to cut any 'non-jobs'. The law gives the public sector the right to expropriate money from the general public to fund its activities – it's called taxation. If it doesn't raise enough money from taxation, it simply borrows vast amounts of money on behalf of the general public. For irresponsible governments like New Labour, they can use borrowing to create the illusion of normality without making any public sector job cuts.
  • 10 years in the civil service as an AO wage £16k, 37 hours a week, 25 days holiday and a pension , but been told it wont be much because employer contributions are going to be cut quite a bit. Where can i get one of these civil service jobs that the daily mail etc go on about please? :D

    what a load of tosh!!

They're the most overpaid, over-rated bunch of time wasting beaurocrats that ever costed taxpayers any money.
I'm NOT talking about frontline workers, of whom I've the utmost respect, but of middle management flussies who are're worth the 10-'xs on millions paid per year.

They sit around, playing solitiare on their computers, BULLYING those beneath them to do all the work

Don't think it goes unnoticed, workers, we know the environment and conditions you're working under

Oh it certainly IS important isn't it.
What a fantastic job you lot must be doing eh?

Well done Marklv and all you're ilk.
You are just another example of the problems and debt that have been created by the massive expansion of the state and the public sector. There is no need to have ballooned the state up to the size it is with all the failed, massive waste of taxpayers money that pays YOUR wages.

Because of course you have cast iron proof that these problems are down to the project managers and that it isn't the case that they are preventing the problems you mention from being 5 times worse than they actually are?

I'm trying to decide if you're really so ill-informed as to actually believe the tripe you say or if you're trying to be offensive on purpose.
If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything
