A similar thing happened to a friend a few years ago only with a washing machines.
He rang them to tell them (A large department store) They said they would get back to him but they did not.
We put it down to the fact that someone had slipped up at that end and did not want it known.
The extra one was eventualy sold to a family member at a reduced rate.I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0 -

Well one option, the one I would take and I would have thought the obvious one, is to phone Sainsburys to explain the situation and ask them what they want to do about picking up the extra mattress at a time that's convenient for you. Why would you need any other option? What the law says would be irrelevant to me.loose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.0 -

I was just interested in the law thats all, all sorted now but thanks for the extra replies.0 -
Actually, I don't think it falls under "unsolicited goods", as you did place an order.
You need to phone up Sainsburys, and let them know you have received two of the item you ordered instead of one, and tell them they need to come and pick it up within 7 days (as it's bulky and in the way). They should pick it up at your convenience.
They might even say you can keep it.
If you don't contact them, then they might look at their records, see you've had two delivered, then bill you for the second item, which I think you would then either have to pay for it, or return it in the same condition as it was delivered, at your convenience.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
It could be just that Silentnight have finally accepted that they are selling rubbish that won't last. So they have given you another one for when the first one fails in about 12 months. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Seriously though. Call Sainsburys and tell them. Then if the don't collect it you can save it to replace the first one in a year or so.0
