    this is one of the (many) problems with tax credits. Fall ill in january after you have worked hard all year and your income from april to january is counted when calculating your entitlement even if your income has dropped dramatically. I know it doesn't help now but you tax credits will increase in april if your circumstances remain the same, just make sure you call them on april 6th and give them your estimated income for the year based on your benefits.
  • thanx Lee, things may get better. just recieved my hubbys P45 and his earnings on it are about £4000 less than the figure i gave them from his final payslip, so fingers crossed i may get a little extra.
