Car leasing - big deposit and small payments or vice versa

Don't forget; you have to hand the car back with minimal damage [fair wear and tear] and types to their standards [not yours], and the pence per mile additional mileage really adds up. So be prepared to add another £1000 on top to return it, if not more...depending on mileage.
I appreciate your comment but find it slightly strange how you can make such a broad sweeping statement without knowing a) the mileage I am likely to do and b) the mileage I am taking the car based on.
You are of course correct on the "fair wear and tear" but having reviewed what is and isn't allowed I don't find it especially restrictive so don't anticipate any problems.0 -

I said 'be prepared....depending on mileage'.
I'm only speaking from actual experience - my apologies if I've wrecked your life :rotfl:
p.s...you pay VAT on the additional miles charges0 -
Maybe it's an idea to take you quote for just over £10,000 from deal drivers and ask the dealer to match. They may not be aware the finance deal is not as competitive. Even if they say no use it to perhaps meet in the middle or include set of mats & full tank of fuel or similar if you commit to the order.
I would suggest before you hand back the car at the end of the term get a couple of offers from Smart dealers for it. If you ask a few you should be offered a fair trade price, if this is higher than the GFV just pay it off and keep the difference rather than handing the car back!
Last of all don't get too stressed by it all, sounds like you've sorted yourself out a decent deal on the right car for you. It should be an exciting purchase enjoy the new car...:)0 -
Cheers Scuttsy, your comments have been much appreciated.0

Neither did I until someone dented the back door in a supermarket car park...and of course drove off. It's not always you that cause the damage that you end up having to pay for.0 -
Agree Zazen, but even if I purchased a new car outright and that happened, i'd still get it fixed so its not going to cost me any more.0

So how can you broadly state the charges will be £1000 if not more if you did not experience this???
Did you just pick a number from thin air?0
