Holiday gone down by £600 since booking

Does anyone know where I stand on this...
We booked a holiday for this coming July back in July 2009 (so we could pay it monthly to spread the cost) and I have just noticed that the exact same holiday is now £600 cheaper. Would it be worth me cancelling and re-booking (this would save us £300 as we would lose our deposit) or is it worth complaining with a hope that they may refund some? A friend is also in the same position and between the two families the price is about £900 cheaper now.
I could understand this if it was a last minute holiday but it's 7 months away!

Really you don't have any rights to a reduction - Buyer beware.
However, it'll be worth complaining. If they refuse to accommodate, cancel and rebook!

Would you have given the company more money if the price had gone up?
No?
Thought not...From Poland...with love.

It's a risk you take when booking travel but if you cancel and still come out with saving 300 and not losing any money...then re-book it!

Before you cancel check what the full deposit was and make sure that £300 wasnt a low deposit because you would still be liable for the rest of the low deposit and could leave you out of pocket. But you are quite within your rights to cancel and rebook if it works out cheaper.0

Would the travel company just cancel the booking and refund your deposit if they thought they could make more money somewhere else, or had just overbooked.
Though so.
OP, go for it, give the company a call first, some do actually offer to meet new prices if the holiday subsequently goes down.0 -

No, they would not, as they would be in breach of contract.
Do you actually think before you speak?
Gone ... or have I?0 -
If the full deposit is only £300 and there are no other penalties, you would be crazy not to cancel if you could slash £600 off the cost ,there by saving £300!0
