Three won't give me a phone!

  • You also are now in a bind because if there has been a credt check done on your online application and subsequently another separate credit check in store these start to show up on your credit history (as rejected). High (and Low) credit check activity loses youpoints in your credit score ... ironic but true.

Likely if you go to O2 and they do a credit check (which they will) it may well have the same result as 3.

Personally, in your position I'd get my current phone handset unlocked, and get the PAC from Orange, get a 3 PAYG and transfer my number to 3 PAYG for a couple of months and then try again at that point.
  • PS also if you leave it 2 or 3 months there will likely be some nice new handsets to choose from at that point... :-)

That'll always be the case though, won't it? :)

And all of this hassle because Orange can't give me a consistent signal in a really-not-very-remote part of the South East! What's worse, is that when I spoke to them they told me the signal should be very good!

I didnt think a credit check showed if you have been rejected or not?

I would also take the time to check Experian who are the largest credit file companies, you can get it online at https://www.creditexpert.co.uk this will then give you a full picture of your history.
  • That raises another question: I've signed up with Experian before, but left them over a year ago. Can I now sign up for another free 30 days? I tried, but it came up with my old account details, so I wasn't sure if I'd get charged again rather than getting another 'trial period'.

Credit checks do not show as rejected, but it is avised to have no more than 3 applications in 3 months. Too many searches shows you maybe applying for either alot of credit or are getting declined.

There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies
