2010/11 ISA allowances

I have just telephoned my bank to check about the ISA allowances effective from the 6th April, 2010. They tell me that the limit will remain at £3,600 unless you are over 50. I spoke to two separate people who confirmed this.

My understanding was that from then, everyone could put in up to £5,100 in a cash ISA. As I understand it, at present the limit is £3,600 unless you're over 50 in which case the £5,100 already applies.

Am I misunderstanding this somewhere?

David

You are right, the bank staff are wrong - it's their misunderstanding, not yours.

You're misunderstanding the intelligence you can expect from Bank employees ;) How someone can work adjacent to finance and be oblivious to the change is little short of frightening.
