Orange SIM

My monthly orange contract is about to be cut off by 22nd Jan (this is in my husbands name) I decided to get a SIM to keep me going until I find a good deal with a new phone. I called in the Orange shop and she suggested I phone orange and get PAYG sim and have my original number.
I phoned up last night, but he said i would have to stay connected to my current tarrif until SIM activated 30 days. I said no as I dont want to confuse the issue. How can I stay connected PAYG but keep my number. I am not near a big town so something by post would do.

Ask Orange for your pac code (or your husband will have to if the acc's just in his name).
Get a free payg sim from one of the other networks, give them the pac and they'll move the number to that sim.
Look for a new Orange sim deal you like, when you find it, get the pac from your new network and give that to Orange and the number will get moved back to them.
Job done

You'll have to be quick if you're due to be disconnected in 2 days. Once that goes through the number gone.
