Hi wiginsmum, when you say you're waiting for potatoes to arrive, do you mean you've ordered them from somewhere?
If so could you tell me where from?
    Thanks,

Yeah I ordered them from Dobies:

I'm an insomniac so I burn the candle at both ends. I'd much rather sleep till 7am, but once my brain kicks in I have to get out of bed.
The ability of skinny old ladies to carry huge loads is phenomenal. An ant can carry one hundred times its own weight, but there is no known limit to the lifting power of the average tiny eighty-year-old Spanish peasant grandmother.
  • Can someone remind me what can be sown at this time of year please - I've lots of bare earth!

Radishes, Turnips, cut and come again salad leaves, Chard. Spinach, Basil, Coriander.
I found some well sprouted potatoes in the copboard and just bunged them in a couple of plastic buckets with some compost and will earth them up as they go. 2 days later and there are healthy green leaves showing. it took about 10 minutes max.
Living on Earth can be expensive, but it does include an annual free trip around the Sun.
