Yay!!!!
I am the proud farmer of 3lb of charlotte potatoes!!! They are beautiful and small and creamy looking - and I am so proud I just want to look at them for a while before thinking how to cook them!!!
It has been a long, hard slog to get a 3lb crop from a handful of seed pots - but I am so proud nonetheless!!!!

Wow, that was odd seeing you sign off as Kat as that's my 'nickname'/shortened name.
I let mine go wild and do hat they like but others say you should let them set only 4-ish fruits...April 2021 Grocery Challenge 34.29 / 2500 -

.) Does anyone know any organic solutions? All the ones in the garden centre look pretty nasty. Apparently it's caused by combination of dry soil (a good daily soaking in this weather still leaves them dry later in the day) and humid weather
. Any advice gratefully received...
I don't think this will actually affect your crops, just looks unsightly...?April 2021 Grocery Challenge 34.29 / 2500 -
Does anyone grow thai basil? I set a packet full of seeds but only have one plant growing. DO I just pick the leaves then it will continue to grow?
I have also grown corriander seeds, do these grow again once picked or once its used that it? I usually buy a plant from Asda, cut off all the corriander then chuck the plant away. I was wondering if there was a way to keep my seeds growing.Nevermind the dog, beware of the kids!0 -

Hehe - there are at least four Kats on here. I blame that Slater woman myself
I'll leave the pumpkins to do what they want - I'm not interested in prize winners, I only want them for soup.

Yeah that's what I thought but the plants are looking seriously withered and the mildew is all over them now, and they aren't producing as many courgettes (or any in some cases). I looked it up and apparently it affects yield and growth but most of all the quality, so I think I should do something. Going to give a water/soap/bicarb spray a go and see what happens... (they are looking a bit like a lost cause though.)

Hi Lulubells,
The pumpkins are best left on the ground to trail, you can encourage them to go round in a spiral type way by pegging the stem down where you want it as it grows.
Peas don't tend to be climbers, rather, they grow to around three footish(if you are lucky) and send out grabbers to keep themselves stable. I push old tree brances, with lots of smaller branches on the ends, all around the peas and so they have plenty to grab onto as they grow.Others use pea netting .
Hope that helps0 -
Ant tips on growing miniture fruit trees. I've got 2 apple and a pear and a redcurrant which seems to be doing ok, and a white currant. The blueberry is dead.
Do I have to pinch out anything or just leave them to grow. They seem to be getting quite big for a miniture (though I dont know what size they should be).The curve that can set a lot of things straight is a smile0 -
