USing Orange in Germany - help with bundle
Hi all,
I have called Orange and I have taken out a bundle to use the phone cheaper. I am getting 25% off call charges and can receive calls up to 200mins FREE...
Now my questions is: Since I am on my gf magic number list, would that mean, she can call me in Germany for free for these 200 mins?
I actually forgot to ask, though I remember, the agent said these calls are for free for calls from the UK.
I find it hard to believe, considering the costs for roaming...
I didnt take a Data Roaming package though....they are mental! _pale_

Thanks, I guess I need to try, but maybe someone has XP in that?
Maybe a mobile phone geek can answer this: I checked my HTC Hero and the swicth for DATA Roaming is OFF! SO there wont be any surprises, i hope?!0 -
Usually, the location of the other phone makes no difference to the caller, and the receiver is paying roaming fees, so I would assume that the magic number arrangement ought to still apply to your girlfriend calling you, but it might just be worth checking with Orange
When they said it is free for calls from the UK, they are excepting you making calls to magic numbers from abroad, not the other way.
And no, don't use roaming data except in very small quantities.0 -
My daughter is in the army based in Germany and she was getting huge bills phoning home when with Orange and she could have bought the same bundle as the OP.s but i got her a sim only deal with Vodafone and on that is vodafone passport which is free to put on the deal.
She only gets charged a 75p connection fee and the minutes she is on the phone come off her monthly minutes allowance.0 -

Depending on the typical length of those calls - for shorter ones it could be worth also looking at a German SIM. Some with cheap int'l calls are Blauworld, Fonic and Solomo, all 8 or 9 cents a minute to UK landlines.0 -
For short calls then the german sim would be cheaper but my daughter is on the phone for up to an hour when she rings home.
The vodafone sim deal is best for her as she has 600 mins & u/l texts for £10pm.0
