And you think its fine to give a 9 year old a computer in his room with internet access is a good thing. Specialy with the amount of things that can happen now adays.

Kids are getting that clever with computers these days that its pretty easy to circumnavigate just about any blocking method with a little know how (Which is usually talking to other kids at school)

Thanks for all the responses everyone. My friend who has boys of that age tells me its common for them to want to look at stuff like that at that age :eek:. I had another look at the history and the sly sod had been having a right good look at the Nuts magazine website - I was sitting 10 feet away, screen facing other way though.

I'm going to take the technical route to solve this problem as the social one seems to fall on death ears. I've tried trust me!

I'll have a good look at all your technical advice and I'm sure I'll be able to fix now. I think I might go down the route of having a seperate restricted log in for the children.

You can use a content based !!!!!! blocker...which can block only pornographic content in websites and let you view other adult websites, e.g.: homeguard !!!!!! blocker this can also block !!!!!! search engine results without showing any warnings or anything it will just come up blank..hehe

One method you could use is to find a list of all the !!!!!! sites such as urlblacklist, and redirect them through the hosts file to a safe site such as [STRIKE]lemonparty.org[/STRIKE]

I would not stop lads looking at a certain degree of !!!!!! but i would be looking at the history tab to see if it was over the top .
If you ban youngsters from doing something it sends out the message this is good and they find a way around restrictions .
