Virgin Sim Card PAYG - how much starter credit?

If you're lucky, you'll get one with £1 on it, but they stopped sending them ones out and now they don't have any credit on at all.0

colliefrog - do you know if you can phone customer services and talk to an agent with no credit? G0
-
They usually charge 10p, but you will still get through with no credit. Be prepared for a long wait though! Systems have been down recently and staff are still dealing with the back log.
Just re-read your OP... they normally won't allow you to just port in then back out straight away. Company policy is that a customer has be registered, to have topped up and have made a chargeable call before they will issue a PAC. Depends on who you get on the end of the phone though, some of the staff (usually in J'burg or new starters) are not aware of these rules.0 -
ok thanks. So worst case I will have to top up by the lowest denomination of £5?0
-
Yeah, you could always spend it on a game or ringtone? I'd give it go without topping up first, like I said they may not be fully trained!0
