Yeah, i have tried (and many have as well) to understand lloyds system but it is complex and confusing that even some of their own staff cannot even help as they give conflicting explanation. There are numerous threads on this forum to buttress this.
Fo nearly 1 year, they listed me 'Credit bureau data' which i was told meant i had something adverse on my history. Lo behold, i took all 3 CRA report into Lloyds branch (of cos they were all squeaky clean) but they still couldn't help me. I argued and argued but no one could tell me what the prob was even though it was their suggestin that i bring in all 3 CRA reports.
I gave up and ignored them.
But somehow somehow. after another few months, they decided to let me out of their jail cos the system now suddenly started offering me all the goodies on the planet.
Though i was pleased the whole mystery had ended, but i was non the wiser cos i still dont know why i was marked out in the 1st place

Remember they use CAIS, so the account conduct of non-Lloyds accounts will be continually monitored through Experian, and will count toward their internal "Risk" score.

I have two other accounts with a £0.00 balance... would that affect anything??

Simax do you have a cash account?

Also, did you have a cash account and change it to another type (eg Classic, Silver, Gold etc)

Having 2 other accounts with £0 will not go against you.

My Barclays current account doesn't appear on my report at all..

Was it opened before 1997? If so, the chances are Barclays don't have your consent to share data about that account.

A few years ago there was a consultation on whether to change the law to allow banks to share data on old accounts but I don't know if anything ever came of it. My ancient Lloyds current account is still not reported to the CRA's, but one I opened last year is reported monthly.

Never had a basic account in my life.

Opened the LTSB account as a Silver account a year ago...

    .

Chris that's really interesting, I didn't know this! And yes, it was opened when I was 12 and just upgraded over the years... so that would have been ... 1995. Mystery solved!
