I bought a Dulux Paintpod thingy last year. It was useless. The special paint it needs is expensive and so thin you need many coats. Luckily it broke and so I was able to get a refund on it. I finished the job with a roller.

I think a good quality sheepskin roller on a pole (one the roller screws into) is the best way to paint walls and ceilings. With the walls the pole balances the weight of the roller. It's also a good idea to paint the walls and ceiling the same colour so you don't need to faff with edges.

:T:T They are a triumph of marketing hype over practicality IMHO. PS the "special paint" is only watered down ordinary paint anyway (shh don't tell anyone!). PPS you won't catch professionals using them either - that should be a good enough clue. By the time you've faffed about with the thing the jobs done with a roller and you are an hour or two into the next job.

    Spot on.

i can do 3 coats on a ceiling with a roller & pole, before the sprayer has even finished masking up.
    a complete waste of time.

  • Thank you for replies, babies Dad would do the painting but I'm a bit of a control freak when it comes to my home and he's bound to do it wrong - Hormones and all that!

    Will stick to paint pads.
