Freederm never did much for me

If they're coming up on the side of your face and your chin, are you keeping your phone clean? As phones build up a lot of dirt and if you think about where you're holding them then that can sometimes be the problem. If not though, as someone else mentioned in this thread, spots on the chin can often be due to a hormonal imbalance so it might be worth checking that with your GP. However, I only really gets spots on my chin and sides of my face (not my cheeks) and it's nothing to do with my hormones, I'm just unlucky. I'd suggest using a gentle cleanser, toner and moisturiser (I use Liz Earle stuff as it's very gentle) and don't over treat the spots as that can cause the problem to worsen.
After you've cleansed, toned and moisturised, try using Sudocrem on the spotty area. It's for nappy rash and can be found in the baby section of Boots, but it's very good at calming down inflamed, spotty skin. Be aware though, it doesn't rub in (you apply a layer and it just sits there) so be prepared for messy sheets!Never argue with an idiot; they'll bring you down to their level and then beat you with experience.0 -
I'm in my 30's and still have problem skin, mainly hormonal acne and I have recently found SBC Propolis gel to be fantastic - drys and heals spots quickly and has generally cleared up my skin without leaving it dry and flaky like some spot reatments do! Wish I'd tried it years ago!! I put it on morning and night before my moisturiser and a little goes a long, long way.
Cheapest way to buy it seems to be QVC (and you can return it with their 30 day money back guarantee if it doesn't work for you) or maybe someone might be selling it on ebay.

You need to have a read of the Oil Cleansing thread and stop stripping your face of it's natural oils. It then reacts by over-producing oil and causing spots.
Central heating is a nightmare for skin too - my dd's eczma flares up as soon as it goes on .
Seriously, have a read of the oil cleansing thread

hmm - OK, some of the cleansing tips could be helpful. I did used to cleanse with almond oil as it happens - stopped about a year ago because soap was cheaper - until recently I'd not seen any real difference in my skin condition - but perhaps it's just taken a while to "catch up"?
Don't eat much dairy or use phone a lot, so doubt those are the problem, although thanks for sugestions. I do have a sneaking feeling that it's something hormonal, but I can't understand why it's just decided to flare up now. I'm 28 - so not in the middle of any normal hormonal flux periods.0 -

In that case I already eat lots of zinc. You pretty much just described the contents of my cupboards!0 -

Hmm - maybe it'd be worth going back to oil cleansing after all. I only stopped because of the cost - always found it kept my skin pretty reasonable.
Might give the evening primrose a whirl - am about to google it for more info now....0
