You wont believe this but ive just had another car accident...........

Im not having a very good time at the moment!!
Just pulled off the m40 at junction 12 and waiting to join the road and a transit van hits me up the backside!!
luckily he got out and said sorry it was my fault.
also luckily enough i was not far from work where we have a small team of warwickshire polices finest based so they attended and got a statement of him admitting liability!!
so now ive got to find another 500 quid for the excess on the hire car im driving whilst my own car is being repaired following the crash i had on boxing day.................
it just gets better and better!!

Why didn't you get the other driver's insurance to sort out a replacement vehicle? Shouldn't cost you a penny.

Barney, I had 2 minors and the car go up in smoke in a one week period. None were my fault and in the 23 years since have not had any other issues.

    As they say sh*t happens:money:
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed
  • Surely you can "sue" the van driver for the hire car excess?
  • i was driving the hire car i got given by my insurance because of the accident i had on boxing day.

the other driver involved in that accidnet is denying liability.

need to speak to enterprise to see what happens now.

    cheers

I'm sure the hire XS, would be returned, after the duration of hire. Is the XS, taken in case there is a further accident in the vehicle that is being currently hired. TBH, I've never heard of companies taking an XS.

Steve - You should clarify this with Enterprise.

Edit - Just re-read. Your second accident is in an enterprise car.
  • yes thats correct.

im currently driving an enterprise hire car(which has an excess of 500£) as my own vehicle is being repaired after an accident on boxing day.

all enterprise have taken at the moment is £50 which thye took when i first got the car.

they told me if there was any damage i would be liable for the excess.

i guess i need to find out if this is the case still with a non fault accident??
  • You need to inform them of the accident asap - and they will take a report from you. They may replace the vehicle your driving at the moment and swap you into another.

XS - Yes, should only apply in fault accidents.

But, yes call them and inform then of this morning. :)

Who is actually providing the car, is it actually provided by your own Insurers / their approved repairers as a proper courtesy car, the other Insurers or is it a Credit Hire provided by Enterprise but you have signed a credit agreement?

If it is genuinley a Courtesy car provided by your own insurers / approved repairers then the excess would normally be the same as your own policy with them.
  • i have guarunteed hire car on my policy, they wanted to give me a ford ka which would not be ideal with two children in car seats and a 100 mile round trip to work everday.

enterprise upgraded it (at no cost to me ) through a scheme called "abi non fault" or somthing??
