Just been to Sainsbury's (no Asda close enough for me to pop to) and they had the Hello Kitty cake for £7, how annoying!!

Although it's probably gone from Asda now anyway. Reckon it was a misprice?

Afraid it wasn't a misprice, we just missed out!
Called my local store, they were on offer for £1 but offer finished yesterday.
Shame, daughters party next week, will have to be brave and make one instead!
    How much ?????????!!!

Just back from the ASDA baby event and a couple of bargains to report through their Rollback and a glitch.

Firstly, there is a lovely Hello Kitty Birthday Cake on Rollback from £6ish to just £1 - perfect for my daughter's 5th birthday this week and a nice long date on it, so good and fresh. It's also at ASDA online if anyone wants to take a look.

Secondly, there was a '2 for £4' end of aisle display with packets of Cadbury Mini Eggs, Mini Creme Eggs, Mini Caramel Eggs, etc etc. I picked up 2 of the new Mini Eggs Selection pack, which is dark blue / purple and contains a mixture of each of the Mini Creme, Caramel and Dairy Milk Eggs, I think it was 253g per bag, £2.98 each, but under 2 for £4 on the display.

They failed to go through on that deal, customer services checked for me and refunded the £1.96 overpaid and gave me another £2 on an ASDA gift card. So I've got about half a kilo of yummy mini eggs for about two quid. I'm well chuffed! :money:

    Hope this helps!!

where do you find the right info about being overcharged..i am constantly going to customer services for being overcharged in asda but i have never got a £2 giftcard..i can't see any info about this as i would be telling them about it everytime cos i am fed up with the price mistakes of getting overcharged

OMG what's the date on the Hello Kitty birthday cake?

I've been hinting to my GF that I want it for my birthday..if it's still available..and with that rollback price I'm assuming it won't be :( (My birthday is in April.. lol)

    Would it freeze??

Just went to the isle of dogs asda this evening, saw the label for £1 but there was none on the shelf, so asked a member of staff who was restocking and they had two in a box on their trolley, I bought them both! :) and the expiry date is 11 feb 2010

I'm so pleased a few people have been able to get the cake - it is lovely.

I've never seen anything in writing about the gift card thing. It happened to me once before in the same store (Sunderland) when I had to bring back some sticks of cheese because they'd gone past their use by date when I bought them and I only noticed when putting them away in the fridge. That time, same as the choccy eggs, they refunded me what I was owed and matched the amount onto a giftcard as well.

I presume it's some sort of 'match the overprice' or 'recompense for nearly eating potentially 'off' goods' type of goodwill gesture from ASDA??

    Perhaps a local policy??

I went to my local in Brynmawr this morning and there was NO hello kitty birthday cakes, I forgot some stuff so went back this afternoon and they HAD Hello kitty birthday cakes for £7, there was a young man filling up some shelves so i asked him how much the cakes were and told him i wanted one as they were online last night for £1 and he told me yes there was a mistake! they had a message through this morning informing the store that there was a mistake on the price of the cake and they were told to take them off the shelf until it was corrected and then put them back for £7!
