I'm an 'A' - we have three kids under 9, and we got our confirmation through last week.

The last two years holidays have been out of the question due to illness - the few £9 Travelodge rooms we'd booked never got used - so this year, health seems ok so we've bitten the bullet and used our Tesco vouchers for 4 nights with Park Resorts - a cash spend of £9 for a nice big, wheelchair accessible caravan (if we don't book early, we can't get it).

Here's hoping for some good weather this year :)

  • Already booked.
My mother and I are off to visit my Uncle in San Antonio Texas for 10 days with a trip via New York on the way back. Late May/Early June. Cannot wait.

I put myself down as single as there isn't really a category for a 23 yrd old going away with her mother :rotfl:
  • I've not booked anything yet, as I need to wait until I know how much (if anything) I'm going to get for an end of year bonus in March to know what my budget for a holiday is. Once I know what I can spend though I book as early as I can - so didn't really fit in any of the categories offered.
  • we usually book soon after the brochures are released because I work in a school environment (non teaching) so theres little choice to when I can have a holiday.sometimes there are early booking discounts to tempt you with. for this year we booked online in nov 08 for coming august. glad we did, same holiday is now on sale for £250 more.

Booked on Friday through the Sun Holidays for a week in the vendee in July for our family of four :T Last two years have been a long weekend in Newquay in May, so am very excited. Wouldn't normally book this "early" but needs must for the bargain hunter ;)

We’re off to New Zealand in April – not quite a summer holiday but since we don’t have kids we can go when it’s most convenient. However, since we book flights and arrange accommodation seperately, it’s early booking for the flights for the cheap ones and late booking for any accommodation – some of which will be free as we’re visiting my father.

It’s a shame that there isn’t an option on the list for the self organised holidays – as I’m sure there are a few people out there who do this!

I could make it better myself at home. All I need is a small aubergine...

I moved to Liverpool for a better life.
And goodness, it's turned out to be better and busier!
  • It seems that 'summer hols' are mainly favoured by families who need to go away when the kids are off school, etc.

It's much easier for single people to go away at short notice.

Being single myself, it's beautiful where I live in the summer and I wouldn't dream of going away on holiday somewhere when it's the best time to be at home.

I prefer to take all of my holidays in the winter when it's coldest at home.

Although this will be the first winter since 2002 that I've stayed home. I was going to go to the USA in March, but the new in-flight rules are too much hassle.
