Sky+ HD Upgrade

This is more in hope than expectation, but is there any cheap/discounted way to upgrade to HD?
We've just bought a HD telly, but it appears to have compatibility issues with the current Sky+ box. Sky are no help, and I don't want to return the telly because it was a real bargain. Replacing the telly will cost about £150 extra for an equivalent.
I just rang Sky and they reckon it will cost me -
Box £49
Installation £60
Monthly fee £10 for a minimum of 12 months
- so £229 in total.
Any bright ideas?
Cheers.

What "Issues" are you having?
How is the Sky+ box connected to the TV (Scart?)
Have you tried new scart cable?0 -

Probably the 'compatability issue' is no HDMI port on the Sky+...0 -
I've bought a brand new scart lead but that didn't work. The picture keeps freezing up but it's a long story. To be honest, I don't know why I'd need a HDMI cable...0

A SCART will only give you SD pictures on the normal AV stations,NOT on the HD ones, for that, you need a HDMI cable & HD STB.
If your picture keeps freezing, you may need the dish realigning, the cable could be damaged, the Hard Drive or even the PSU may be going.0 -
Oh, I see. No, I've not got a HD box at the moment. It's not the dish, cable or the STB because the picture only freezes with a certain TV.
I think I'm going to have to sack HD, or pay the full amount.0 -
I upgraded last week and got the hd box and install free, I originally cancelled but phoned back as I could not live without football first. Phone and tell them you are looking to cancel and see what they offer you. This is more in hope than expectation, but is there any cheap/discounted way to upgrade to HD?
