External Hard Drive advice please

Don't forget that even though you have these pictures stored on your external hard drive you still want to keep a full set on your PC or a second external hard drive.
I know a number of people that have bought a single external drive, copied all their pictures over and then deleted them from their PC. It's only when you point out that if the only copy is on the external drive it isn't a backup that they spot the problem.0 -

My last thread was asking advice about getting photos off a non working computer. I am ashamed to say that I have experienced the difficulties of not backing up. But you are right, precious files need to be kept in at least 2 places.
Thanks for the reminder

5 dvdrs to backup your pictures should only take about an hour to prepare and verify

Probably worth doing in addition to the HDD, and then give them to a friend to look after as an "offsite" backup
