Getting married but I never wear dresses!

Hi All,
Well I never thought I'd be posting on a wedding forum!
My partner proposed at the weekend completely out of the blue. Very, very happy though! :D
I would like some advice/ opinions if I may? I do not ever wear dresses or skirts & now I'm thinking would it be abnormal to wear trousers for my wedding?
The wedding itself will be low key & quite possibly in Las Vegas (!). We decided as we're both fairly old (38 & 48, him divorced) that this was to be a fun event - so who knows may be even Elvis will be involved (although I don't think I'll wear a sparkly jumpsuit!).
So options - wear a dress (even though this isn't 'me') or trousers (definitely 'me' but very boring?).
Thankfully my sister has done the huge white wedding with all the trimmings so I don't need to worry about the family getting upset.
Advice gratefully received :o

    Congratulations!

I'm not a bride-to-be and I wore a dress at my wedding (back in 87), but I absolutely hate wearing skirts or dresses. Trouser suits weren't really the norm. If i'd known they'd existed and it hadn't been the decade that taste forgot, i'd have definitely gone for trousers.

    They can be feminine too.

Here's an idea. Maybe not your style, but an example of what you could get. http://www.whitemischiefbridal.co.uk/BrinkmanBridalTrousers.htm
Or maybe a floaty trouser suit with a long matching coat on top?
  • Thank you very much! I really like that suit - very stylish & feminine. I feel a bit more relaxed now (silly me!)

I never wear dresses or skirts, but can't wait to wear my wedding dress!

Some of the trouser suits in the link by Laura are so simple yet classy.

Wear whatever you will feel comfortable in, there are no rights or wrongs :)

I will be 39 and NEVER wear anything but trousers, so was a bit surprised I chose a 'full on' wedding dress!! Try lots of things on and prepare to be shocked at want your inner self loves!

I remember before i got married my friend saying" I just can't imagine you in a dress" and said she certainly could not envisage me in a wedding dress, I went for it big style with a huge net skirt, I loved it! You might be surprised, but I love that trouser suit on jackieb's link!
  • How about a lovely white trouser suit a la bianca jagger, i think she looked amazing when she wore that x
