Oh and on the Lottery win...if I won now, there is NO way I would stay working. I would buy myself a business or something that generated an income to make more money on the winnings and then I would do some worthwhile voluntary work and spend my days, running and at the allotment (actually I would have a large smallholding by then, so pottering around on my farm lol)

However if I won in x years time after I have spent years studying to get a career I would probably consider still working part time and then pottering the rest :)

It's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.

I wanted to wait and see what hubby wanted to do for his birthday and he said today there's a film out the weekend after that he'd really like to see so we'll be going out that weekend instead.

Sally I was reading about the number of steps per day the other day; they were saying that because everyones lifestyle is so different you should wear your pedometer for a few normal days and work out what your "norm" is then plan to up it by 1000...so if your norm is 6000, aim for 7000 a day for a week or so, then aim to up it by another 1000 a day for the next week.

lilmiss - I'm so used to having a non chip and pin card that I take money out - then use the chip and pin on top of it. Right now there's £100 in the drawer I'm not touching - I took the change out of my purse and put it, my bank card, ID and my boots card (have a £5 no7 voucher to use) in my little purse. I'll probably end up doing this and see what happens.

ETA: Am going into town to sell my netbook and take back the stop smoking stuff I didn't use. I'm going to plan to do it again when I've not got so much stress in my life. Then I think I'll have lunch before going ot the dreaded GP for the coil fitting

I'm sure you'll be fine. Don't deny yourself the odd treat every now and again - otherwise you might fall off of the waggon big time!

It does make me giggle when work colleagues complain at having NO money what so ever, but can afford to buy a sandwich etc at lunchtime!

My aim for February is to pay off my Lloyds Credit Card, it's £450 at the moment. I will do it, I can do it! :T

Thanks Pooky...I have no idea what my norm is, I guess it depends if I walk to work and back...those 7000 steps made a huge difference!

I have home grown leek and potato soup cooking...smells delicious! :)
