    Look, look, look everyone!

    My first-ever-5th-star-in-a-week!!!!

Friday ~ Bathroom and WC TOOTS!!! I DID IT! :A:A:A
    Level One
    [STRIKE]Declutter and mop floors!
Scrub the bath/shower/basins/toilets/bidets etc.. don't forget the outside of the loo and under the scanky rim.. it gets naaaaaasty under there!!.. oh, and don't forget the top of the cistern![/STRIKE]
    Level Two
[STRIKE]Sling shower curtain/bathmats in the wash and scrub down the slimy tiles![/STRIKE] Bath mat washed last week; windolened the shower screen
[STRIKE]Wash away and mouldy black bits and furry webs
Polish up the taps so they shine![/STRIKE]
    Level Three
[STRIKE]Wash light pull strings! (Painting with neat bleach works then rinse in a jug of water)[/STRIKE] Don't have light pulls - have external light-switch in the landing (which I cleaned on Monday :D)
[STRIKE]Scrub down the paintwork and radiators.. back and front![/STRIKE] I have two heated towel rails instead of radiators, and I wiped every rail today. Also wiped round the door frames.
[STRIKE]Clear and wipe window sills and frames and make the blinds/curtains nice and clean[/STRIKE] Velux windows (no blinds as they point heavenwards, though I suppose I might startle the odd 747 pilot...;)) - Hoovered round the frames, though
    Extras
    1. [STRIKE]Clean out the toiletries cupboard and put back the stuff you use.. and fling the stuff you don't! Do any necessary decanting so you have fewer almost empties![/STRIKE]
    2. [STRIKE]Replace and curly toothbrushes[/STRIKE] Changed heads last week on the electric toothbrushes; but I recharged them today, washed the gunk off the handles :p, and put the toothbrush mug in the DW overnight tonight
    3. [STRIKE]Polish mirrors and shelves![/STRIKE] and tiles, and all the wooden surrounds, which need oiling every month (mmmm eucalyptus and rosemary)
    4. [STRIKE]Make a note of stuff you do need to stock up.. and stuff you already have stocked up for 10 years![/STRIKE] Need DH's shampoo; don't need shower gel!!!!
    5. Hoovered inside my airing cupboard because I air my washing in there next to the hot water tank, and the dust was starting to build up.
    6. Topped up the pot-pourri oil (damask rose)
    7. Changed all the towels and flannels
(I did a few extras just to cover all eventualities - even did a load of filing on the computer - 'cos I knew how m-e-e-a-a-n-n Piggers can be.... :p:p:p;))

Would anyone mind if I did a little dance at this point?:rotfl: It's been about 4 months getting here....

Just back from youth club - we've decided to put on a show next week in aid of Haiti children. The kids worked really hard pulling something together. Of course, this meant no flying today and another weekend of catch up probably!!!

    See you all tomorrow x

Well so far this week I have failed miserably in my flying. Yesterday proved to be quite a day, starting off with DS ringing me just after he had left the house (an hour late) to drive to work to say the clutch had gone on the car and he was stranded. After getting him to the station and getting the car to our local garage I then got the news it would cost over £600 to get it fixed.:eek::eek:

Question... do we spend that amount of money on a S reg Fiesta for a 19yr old boy or buy a new one where the insurance could be around £2.5k for a year? The answer we ended up with was to get the old car repaired. DS is hopefully going to uni in Sept so won't be able to afford the car and it will then go to DD who finishes uni this summer and already has a job lined up.

To top off the day I helped back stage with the full monty - it proved to be 'quite' interesting with numerous males in varying stages of undress throughout and especially at the end! DH managed the blackout and the blinding lights perfectly - what with 10k of backlight to blind the audience he has it down to a tee! I shall let your imaginations take over....!

I will try to do a weeks worth of level 1's on Saturday. The next few weeks should be easier as I'm only working 3 day weeks to make up for the past 3 weeks working full time (usually only do 4 day weeks).

Hugs to all who are feeling particularly down this evening for what ever reason, whether expressed here or not.:j
Hi! to all lurkers - don't be afraid to post even if you are failing... we all stumble to begin with and some of us stumble/fall flat on our faces more times than we care to admit!
    :j

ps - just realised I have a dentist appt tomorrow morning where a large old filling is going to be removed and may need to have tooth crowned.
Help!!! I HATE drilling! Its only coz my dentist is so nice and caring that I am even willing to step inside the surgery.:eek::eek::eek::eek:
  • Sorry not been flying as per the lists this week. On my personal list last week was to job hunt and I have managed to bag two jobs! One is working from home doing some remote admin work and the other is Pizza Hut trial starting Saturday. Will try and catch up tomorrow or weekend! Must get at least one star!

Hope you are all doing well!

    Oyy - Toots!

I have taken the liberty of challenging your list and your procrastination :p
Just get on with it gal - suggestions given in red below. You can do it if you focus on 5 minute challenges rather than the full half hour!

    :p
    1. forward email to P Do this now - it won't take 30 secs its not straightforward - there is a problem with my emails
    2. wash bed settee duvet Wait until a fine blowy day so it dries outside nicely - was intending to do that but had it on the list as a reminder before I need to use it for my next VIP visitir!
    3. charge new carpet sweeper Do this now - it can charge up overnight - will try
    4. clean freezer - does it REALLY need doing? oh yes badly
    5. gather books for A for thurs
    6. load more on ipod - new CDs do this in half hour chunks
    7. Run appliances through a clean cycle.. degunk filters etc toodo they really need doing? If you've done them in the last 3 months they can be crossed off regardless of what Piggers says :pyes Mum:p
    8. Budget and meal plan for next month.. OK start off with a broad plan. Spend no more that half an hour on it. Revisit it the next day when you have a half hour spare - yes MUm:p
    9. Sort out emergency box.. in case of power failures etc.. candles, matches/lighter/torch/batteries and emergency numbers.. plumber, gas, electric, water etc Start off with a list. What do you actually need in your emergency box? Then slowly work up from that list
    10. Wipe tops of door frames Get your carers to do this - it will take them 2 minutes per door frame tops! carers not allowed needs to be cleaner and there isnt always time in her hour or me
    11. Clear and wipe window sill in kitchenDo this in 2 minute chunks over the next five days
    12. Clean appliance filters.. WM, DW, Kettle, Vacuum cleaner.. cooker hood..Di these one at a time when you're passing
    13. Order and organise the spices and sauces. How many of these do you have and where are they stored? about a dozen and they sit on an open shelf so they are a bit icky
    14. Medical box - restock and inventory. I'm sure a lot of us will have run out of the vitals the last few months! This, I'm sure, you HAVE under control so cross it off woman! Actually no I havent - I have my meds under control but its the ordinary stuff i havent got - plasters antispetic etc etc
    15. Declutter the desk and clean the keyboard etc.. icky germs.. and shake out those biscuit crumbs! Fair dos - this will take you all of 5 minutes xxx
    16. Declutter 50 emails Again, no more than 5 minutes needed on this xxx good grief it will take longer as I will need to check over them again!!!
    17. 15 minutes filing/organising spreadsheets/debtbusting!.. see if you can alter any of these payments to free up some cash!
    18. Defluff behind the radiators.. and wipe the fronts so they look nice Get your carers to do this ! Not allowed needs to be cleaner or me again:o
    19. Clean the downstairs curtain poles/tracks.. furniture polishis a foolproof way of making the curtains run smoothly again! Get your carers to do this ! :ono the cleaner or me again
    20. Gather insurance documents/guarantees/important papers together in one accessible file
    21. Passport JUST DO IT WOMAN! xx It's been on your list a while I think need the form the next time I am in the PO and the cost of it:eek:
    22. Declutter your make-up.. and bin any ancient smellies again, this will probably take no more than five minutes maybe 15 - its in 2 or 3 places
    23. Organise the towels and spare bedding..get your carers to do this! :o
    24. Clean vacuum innards, pipes and filters.. do not use again until it is all dry!Get your carers to do this - make them work for their pay! poor cleaner or me again
    25. Mend 1 item you have been putting off for weeks! (navy cardi)
    26. emails to Cousin P/Cousin S/ Cousin M&M
    27. write to M & A how long will this realistically take? Can you partition one particular time in your daily schedule to do this? 5 mins when I can think what to say - have to be in the mood
    28. write to Jean ^^ ditto ditto
    29. remove photos ffrom laptop to where? flash storage pen I think - before laptop goes for repair - i dont want to lose them
    30. write up calendar and house diary 5 minutes tops! I dont write that fast:eek: - 15 -30 mis i would say

    31. write up card and present book
    32. check if I can finish ECDL what do you need to do to check? how long do i have left to do it in - how I can fit it in to my week without wearing myself out getting there and back

    33. ebay to get the money for my share of present £150/joiners bill/ plumbers bill £40/ painters bill/electrician's bill £194.01/ maybe new curtains and pole, heater for LR, tumble dryer, trip switch repair/ debtsSave this for the weekend xxx
    34. checkout fires for LR Explain? dont have a fire in the LR - need to go looking at fireplace stockists for sizes and prices
    35. send pms to T- N- B - S -S-C This shouldn't take long this is about an hour in total - about 10-15 mins each

    36. check boiler cover - maybe look for new supplier If you have cover at the moment, leave the new supplier bit until your list is reduced ! :p

Yes I have been procrastinating a bit over somethings but I dont seem to get time to do things inbetween what i already do without feeling tired - this week hasnt been good but something is cancelled tomorrow so i have the mornig to do some of the jobs and fully intend to. I know I am lazy.
Thank you for you suggestions and 'watch this space' or wait and see what my list looks like tomorrw!!!

    toots xx

OK caught up and still crying! But crying because it is so lovely to have the support of you all.
Her surgery which was scheduled for next week has been cancelled again:mad: Due to her being ill.

Thinking of you AnW'smum and A and W. My problems seem very insignificant:A

Your problems are not insignificant, I know where DH is and that won't change, your LO is the most important thing to you and I really hope she gets her surgery soon. I so admire how you all cope with the challenges that are continually thrown at you.

AnW'sMum Will be thinking of your tomorrow honey and you know where I am after work if you need/want a chat - love and hugs to you all xxxxxx

Will give you a call after Miss A and W are in bed ;) xx

Please can I respectfully ask why loads of people have changed Avatars to yellow flowers?

They're really beautiful to look at and I'm sure there's a lovely cause behind it.

They are beautiful aren't they :) All these wonderful people have changed them for my DH who died 3.5 years ago, tomorrow is his birthday and it is becoming known as Yellow Day. Yellow is his favourite colour hence the change in avi's to yellow. We are so honoured to have so many people thinking of us and showing us in such a public way, it is very humbling.
