May be worth asking if your venue has a link to a chair cover company, they may be able to negotiate a good rate for you!:rotfl:Ahahah got my signature removed for claiming MSE thought it was too boring :rotfl:0

Probably depends on what the chairs look like and what your colour scheme is.
One of my sisters had chair covers for her wedding, which the hotel used anyway for their normal restaurant service and which matched the colour scheme, and the other sister didn't because the chairs were quite nice (gold with green cushions).
If the chairs were hideous then I'd just get some ribbon and tie it round the back, for the sake of cheapness."A mind needs books as a sword needs a whetstone, if it is to keep its edge." - Tyrion LannisterMarried my best friend 1st November 2014Loose = the opposite of tight (eg "These trousers feel a little loose")Lose = the opposite of find/gain (eg "I'm going to lose weight this year")0 -
We're not having them. I think they make the chairs look like they're going into storage. For other weddings I've been to, I honestly couldn't tell you if I sat on a chair with a cover or not. Guests soon put their jackets over the back anyway.
That being said, one of the venues we viewed had scabby old stained conference chairs that I would have had to cover.
Our venue has relatively new chairs, gold frames (not chavtastic; really nice!) and black seats. They're cool and go with the decor (it's a 14th Century Barn but has black and gold curtains). We're not covering them up.0 -

In my opinion they're just another way to make money from couples trying to have the perfect day.
Remember, no one apart from you will notice what the chairs look like - particulalry when everyone's sat down! It certainly isn't going to ruin anyone's enjoyment of the day! I think that it's far too easy to get hung up on the small details when what everyone really wants is food, booze and a drunken dance. And more booze.
I soooooo agree with you. my venue wanted to charge me £200 for 80.just think the money could be spent elsewhere0
