Ok, this is going to sound slightly crazy but what is the big deal with chair covers? Are they really necessary and would chairs look absolutely horrific without them? Just seems a little weird that so many people think they're so important

I personally think I will have them, just because they make the chairs look so nice, this being said however I don't think they are essential, if your venue has perfectly nice chairs anyway there might not be much point. Just from what i've seen the chairs can be quite heavily patterned (if that makes sense) and i just think it'd look nicer :rotfl:0

My Mum was adamant when we started planning that we were having chair covers, even if she had to order them and pay herself.
I have to say now I agree, at my venue I think the chair covers will pull the room together. The chairs we have are standard red conference chairs.
Admittedly though we have a friend who has given us a discount0 -

Hi no we are not bothering with them I think people apreciate food and drinks more than silly covers which are only bits of sheet. Our venue is getting new chairs so I hope they dont need covering up !!!We got married 17th April 2010 !! A wonderful day with my wonderful husband !! :T0

depending on the final number of day guests between £300-£400. Most places are £3/£4 a cover then the sash is an extra charge. I have heard people getting them for £2 per chair but thats still £120-£160 for my amount of guests which i just refuse to pay for a cover for a seat! lolwould love to win an ipad!

Wow thats a lot! One of the venues we are considering do their own so it is not so expensive. Northern Ireland does tend to be cheaper for a lot of things to0

of course they arent essential
but
some people like them, to finish off the room
we will be having them as the chairs at our venue although nice are silver and bright red, and its all i can see when I go in the room
and those colours dont really go with the ivory and brown theme I have chosen
i think its one of those things, you need to look at your venue and think if you need them or not, if you think you do then work out how much it is and see if you can justify it or not, if not then dont worry about it im sure on the day you wont even noticeMarried on 5th March 2010still lurking on the wedding board tho :rotfl:0 -
im with yellowbug
im having them and i pulled ma hair out with prices and companys but i got them for a pound each so a bargain and i collect them a wk befor the wedding so no stress i hope0 -
I think they look really nice and if I had a bigger budget I would definitely get them.
I went to a function once, we used the same room during the day as in the evening and the difference the chair covers made was amazing, it was like a completely different room. Of course there were other changes to the room but the chair covers looked so nice. Think happy & you'll be happy
I :heart2: my doggies
