Chair covers

I'm having them.
The chair covers are free (the venue own them) and all we have to pay for is hire of the bows/sashes.
The chairs are normal boring chairs which are tired and drab, which is why the hotel have the covers themselves.Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
I want them but am i willing to pay £400 - no way.
We can only get a discount if we order our centerpieces with the same company.
I refuse to pay that much and i dont have the time or patience to do it myself.
So i will go without, once people are sat on the chairs no-one will notice anyway. Or thats my thinking.
But i bet i end up getting them, i really want them its just a ridiculous price. At £4 a chair.:TIs thankful to those who have shared their :T
:T fortune with those less fortunate :T
:T than themselves - you know who you are!:T0 -
Our venue has recently updated their furniture so we are not having them. Did look into it but no local companies and therefore would have them mail order and the postage costs would be high. Luckily the chairs are a wine colour that will blend in with our colour scheme. Personally would rather put more wine on the table with the money being saved and our guests would appreciate that more but as we half of the rugby team you will understand why lol! There are only two things a child will share willingly - communicable diseases and their mother's real age0

not keen myself. only seen pics of the plain white chair covers, and tbh, it just makes the place look like its preparing to stage a Ku Klux Klan meeting rather than a wedding ceremony.0

I wasn't bothered about chair covers so long as the venue had reasonable looking chairs but OH has deceided that he wants chair covers in the reception room, which of course has the most most blimming chairs , because he wants it to look more weddingy and not like just a function. Still, it's looking like our venue may come in about £1000 under budget so we can probably stretch to chair covers for him... :rotfl:0

It wouldn't look like that once there are backsides on the seats :cool:Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
I like them, I think it makes the room look more 'weddingy' and pulls the theme together. Hope I can get them for £2 a chair but will stretch to £3.0

Personally I think they're pointless and I could not even tell you whether any of the weddings i'd been to had them - I didn't even know they existed until I started planning my wedding and I was astounded at the cost, hundreds of pounds on top of everything else! In my opinion they're just another way to make money from couples trying to have the perfect day.
Remember, no one apart from you will notice what the chairs look like - particulalry when everyone's sat down! It certainly isn't going to ruin anyone's enjoyment of the day! I think that it's far too easy to get hung up on the small details when what everyone really wants is food, booze and a drunken dance. And more booze.0 -
I was quite lucky in that the venue has chair covers and only charges £45 for the use of them, its one of the things I would have omitted had it been expensive, but prefer the 'look' of the room with them but it would not have been a problem had we not been able to have them!:rotfl:Ahahah got my signature removed for claiming MSE thought it was too boring :rotfl:0

Wow, ok, thanks everyone! Didn't realise it could 'make or break' a room! Will have to definitely look into it.0
