By a happy coincidence, I can. Today I popped into a different branch of Wyevale to the one I usually haunt this and they had three for £7.49 - and they are the heavy duty woven polypropylene type with reinforced drainage holes.
I didn't buy any last year as they were overpriced, but I thought this (in their sale) was reasonable.
Hope that helps.0 -
Just use heavy duty rubble sacks, a couple of quid for ten. (I find the blue ones with black insides particularly good.“Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?”

I use empty compost bags turned inside out [they are black on the inside]. I make some drainage holes and roll the sacks down. Put some compost in and plant the seed tatties then as I earth them up, just unroll the sides of the bag. Works a treat and have used the same bags several times. Ask around with friends/family to save you their empty bags if you don't have any.0

I've done this too. There's no need to spend out for something to grow potatoes in. Any kind of lightproof, largish container with drainage holes will do.0 -

They will do the job, but they don't look exactly handsome on the patio unless you choose carefully. Last year I turned compost sacks inside out. It worked but was a bit of an eyesore.0 -

I think if someone wants something that would look good on their patio they should grow something other than potatoes. :rotfl: Not the most attractive plants.
Now blueberries though...........0 -
I'm thinking about maybe grouping the bags (or bin/bins) of pots together then make a nice screen out of willow or any of the screening rolls you can buy to fit around the bags. Should make them look more attractive and easy to move when you need access to the bags.Bless Martin's Little Cotton Socks. I thank him for giving us MSE. Look what its grown into!
