Aye you would have to show that there where being negligent and considering this weather I wouldn't think they've been but I'm no lawyer.0

There are lots of roads like that round ours. It's just the normal effect of what freezing and thawing does to our already poorly maintained road network.
Spot on, the crappy standard of road building/maintenance just about copes with the 4 out of 5 years we don’t have a hard winter but when we do all the birds come home to roost0 -

Log them all on http://www.fixmystreet.com they will forward them onto your local council and there will also be a public record on the fixmystreet website so the council can't say they weren't notified
I logged some and the council fixed them within 4 weeks

The picture I posted above is of the main A road between the 'Six Road Ends' & Newtownards over here in N.I. & is a 4 mile stretch.
It is constantly being patched up in places as you can see but,in all the time I have been here, never resurfaced.
And that is one of the better roads over here!0 -

thats all good and well, but can you report entire roads? some roads by me are axle breakers, and it's impractical to label them all.0 -

Can't see any reason why not, I'm planing to do the same with one road, mark the starting point and say which direction, distance and number/condition of potholes0 -
Wow. I'm counting myself lucky it was only one road - that's what was weird. The holes were temporarily filled in at Xmas, but then the snow came again. It was just such a strange thing.
On a bright side when they were last laying new road surfaces it only took them about three days of roadworks, clearing for commute periods. It was like being in Europe or something. I could actually see them moving along.:wall:0
