Potholes

There are lots of roads like that round ours. It's just the normal effect of what freezing and thawing does to our already poorly maintained road network.0

Water gets into the holes, then it freezes and expands, breaking up the asphalt. Bloody nightmare round here. Not so much potholes, but canyons. :rolleyes:0

Try Edinburgh its a joke here and when they fix it roads will be shut on top of the bloody tram worksHalifax Current Account Overdraft : [STRIKE]£1500[/STRIKE] FULLY PAID OFF:jHalifax Credit Card : [STRIKE]£1950[/STRIKE] £1000 Left NOT LONG LEFTO2

You can usually report such things to the council online and they'll sort it out. Here in Lancs they're usually quite good.0

My husband drove my car over a massive pothole yesterday and absolutely mangled my front wheel. He didn't see it in time to avoid it. Lucky I had a spare wheel.0

take a few pics of it with a rule showing depth, width, length and the council should pay for damages.
Ive done it before with my council (renfrewshire), took about a month and a half to settle.0 -
i'd like to point out that kirklees council are useless at anything to do with roads.
i've lived in dewsbury 30 years, and i know of well commuted roads that have never been resurfaced. potholes are a regular feature of the commute.0 -

Unfortunately we didn't have a camera with us at the time and it's far too far from home (a two hour round trip) to be worth the hassle for the sake of a second hand wheel from the scrapyard and the cost of a part-worn tyre. I'd definitely have chased it up if it was going to cost me more than twenty quid or so though.
Thanks though :rotfl:0 -

I'd wager they would perhaps contest it on a few grounds, due to perhaps period of severe weather.0
