All I want is broadband. Where do I go?

All I'm after is broadband, I don't want to shell out for a phone line I'll never use and I'm not too fussed about the TV.
Can I get broadband on it's own withough having to shell out for line rental and if so where do I go to find a good deal??

Yes. How else do you expect to receive broadband if not through a phone line?
Mobile broadband is the only alternative. No free lunch, and no free laptop

You do not need a phone line of any description to get cable broadband.
OP - 10mb broadband from Virgin is £20/month on its own if you are in a cable area.
I think for the purpose of this thread a Virgin cable can be considered a 'phone line', i.e. a phyiscal means of getting the signal into the property. At £20 a month it's basically no cheaper than paying for line rental, and then a tenner or so for broadband.
If you go the ADSL router and pay BT +ISP of your choice, at least you get a basic E&W call package included in the line rental. No free lunch, and no free laptop

I don't think that at all. The OP specifically stated they "don't want to shell out for a phone line I'll never use", not that they don't want a physical line.
But I agree, at £20/month it would be a bit daft to take it on its own when for an extra £2.50/month you could have a separate phone line too.0 -
of course there are other ways......Blackpool_Saver is female, and does not live in Blackpool0

But, in effect, the OP is then shelling out a extra £10 a month for a cable line instead of an ADSL line, because that's how VM set the pricing.
So I agree too, at the end of the day there's nothing in it in terms of cost.
And no doubt the OP will now come back and say that they can't get cable anyway...No free lunch, and no free laptop

Thanks for the response. I know I can definately get Virgin as there's a telewest thing stuck in the wall. Also found a BT line in there two - it's a new flat i've moved in to.0
