any policy of tax incentives for marriage in my opinion are bordering on racism and definately decriminatory because if you are not married for whatever reason it clearly puts you at a disadvantage.

im too ugly to find a wife, and now the government is discriminating against me for it, cheers for kicking a man when he's down!

dont worry, i wont be. As it happens being in the armed forces id probably be better off voting for them, but stuff like this makes me remember that they are still a bunch of bigots.

The lack of support for marraige in our society is one of the reasons for the current social mess that this country finds itself in. At one time, marraige, the church and common law where the conerstones of our civilised society. These have been wittled away over the last generation, at an enormous expense to the fabric of this country.

saying a Conservative government would send out a signal that "if you take responsibility you will be rewarded, if you don't you won't".

^ Agree with this idea behind it, but certainly not the policy itself.... in fact, I think its utter !!!!!!, and has really put me off the tories (again)

Who do you want to 'support' you in your marriage !!!!!!?

It is, or should be, personal. Not anything to do with financial gain.

Don't even start me on the church.

We have been in a relationship for 27 + years unmarried. 99% of people we knew who married are now split up. Tax incentives would not have made any difference, if the grass was greener on the other side of the fence they obviously went for it. More Tory bo11ox
I came in to this world with nothing and I've still got most of it left.

no offense, but this is utter utter testicles! I was brought up by a single parent and ive turned out to be a normal, respectfull, law abiding citizen. Its the quality of the parenting thats the issue with society and to think that walking down the aisle suddenly makes people better parents is laughable and insulting to all the great single parents out there.

It is in the interests of the State to support marriage. I think you will find that statistical evidence supports the fact that children bought up in a stable environment, with Mother and Father in the home are more likely to succeed in life.
