Maldives on a budget?

My partner and I are thinking of going to the Maldives in the summer but have a pretty limited budget. The best deal we've found so far is about £1000 for two weeks full board - which we're not sure whether it includes drinks with meals or not. All inclusive would be better. Does anyone know of a better deal than this??
Thanks!
Thanks!

Sounds like a good price to me. When "in the summer" though? If you wait to go until immediately after Christmas/New Year you can get some cracking deals, the resorts are empty (or certainly not full) and the weather is perfect. They deem him their worst enemy who tells them the truth. -- Plato0 -
We were flexible on dates, although it is to be our 'summer holiday'... any time June to September really. And probably we'd fly from Gatwick I'd think, as we're bloody miles from both Gatwick and Manchester.0

i would recommend going all inclusive personally.
We visited Meeru island and it was magical.
We upgraded when we got the the island instead of through travel agent as we found that cheaper.
It was around $6.50 for a pint and the same for a large soft drink. Considering how hot it is you need to be drinking lots of fluids. Can become costly when on full board.0 -
