I am looking to buy an i pod touch 32G. Am I right in thinking that these are the same as the I phone in every way but without the phone bit.

Pretty much. They don't have any of the phone functionality and don't have a microphone which can be a pain with some Apps. You cna buy external microphones cheaply though. It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die0 -

the Ipod Touch 32GB and 64GB 3rd gen come with mic on the headphones, as it has "tell your iPod and everyone else what sad music you listen to and advertise to knife weilding teens that want to steal it to buy drugs and pot noodle function".Survey earnings total 2009 £417, 2010 £875, 2011 £5740

I'd hardly call the lack of GPS on an mp3 player "crippling".
Think of the Market it would go into though - with the availability to download Tom Tom from the app store
I agree, it's not crippling though. The quickest way to become a millionaire is start off as a billionaire and go into the airline business.

Well yeah, but if Apple had incorporated (at relatively low cost) the GPS Chip into the Touch, you wouldn't have had to pay £80 for a cradle, then another £80 for the software (at least). You can buy the tomtom cradle for the touch if you want...
