If you're causing an obstruction then theoretically yes. Why do you ask?

Sounds like a camera controlled cross hatched area query????

If it is, the answer is of course you can, thats what the cross hatching is for. If I have this wrong i apologuise:confused:
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

of course you can. and quite rightly should be.

if you look further than the end of your nose you would have seen the exit was not clear off the roundabout meaning you had to block another entrance onto the roundabout.
    ...work permit granted!
  • Can you link to an aerial image of the roundabout on Google Maps please?

Not all box junctions are correctly designed.

I wish they would ticket more for ignoring cross hatching, nothing worse than stopping at a green light when roads are busy because a bunch of selfish gits pull onto hatching before their exit is clear.

Together we can make a difference.

    More details please.

  • Cross hatchings should have spikes that pop out when they detect a vehicle that has stopped...

    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:!

OP - If you mean just stopping when there's no hatched markings on the road then IIRC you can't be fined however it's bloody ignorant - especially when there's no cars behind you (or like, 1)

Happens all the time coming out of the train station I commute from :(. A bus driver let me out the other day :T:eek:

For clarity it would be useful to employ more precise terms. Is the OP referring to what may amount to a YBJ - yellow box junction or are they describing a cross hatched area as may also be used on roundabouts to indicate a narrowing of lanes.

To comply with the law YBJ's must meet the kerb at all four corners and many that have been placed at roundabouts do not do so.
My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016). :(

For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com
  • IIRC Yellow box junctions can also only be used on signal controlled roundabouts and are not to be used at ordinary give way roundabouts without special authorisation.
